Finally! It seems like forever since I’ve got to go to the ballfield and watch my son play baseball. I know it’s only been a couple of weeks since his high school season came to an end. On Friday he finally starts his showcase team ballgames. They announced the rosters last night and it looks like he is going to play on a very competitive team. I’ve been to their practices and it looks like a very good group of ballplayers. My son has been working very hard the last couple of weeks. He’s been hitting, throwing, working on his fielding, and conditioning every day. He’s been doing his bands religiously and even watches his baseball instructional videos from time to time. He seems to be very excited about the prospect of playing in front of college coaches and professional scouts. He’s always asking me questions about colleges and their baseball programs. He had to submit a list of colleges that he would be interested in playing for a few weeks ago. Itseems like it changes every day. We watch college games on TV and he has a new favorite every game. I keep telling him that he is still young and has plenty of time. It’s probably still 2 seasons before he needs to start worrying.
I just can’t wait to get back out there. Watching him play ball is like my biggest hobby. Some people like to golf or fish or hunt, etc. I just like going to the ballfield. My wife thinks I’m crazy. She loves it too, but not like me. It also helps me come up with ideas to blog about for baseball instructional videos. When I blog about his games I like to think about other areas of the game that I can try to find a good baseball instructional video for. Anyways you can count on hearing about ballgames again next week.
